Making a shift

"Fatih is not something you just have; it is something you constantly have to work toward. Faith is not a feeling; its a decision you have to make everyday."

- Al Carraway

I heard the expression once that faith is like a muscle. You have to use it in order for it to grow. There have been so many times in my life when I wanted something to happen and I wanted it to happen THEN. I could hear God saying, "Woe you of little faith" so many times in my daily walk. Almost to the point where I am embarrassed to admit how anxiety and fear have ruled a huge part of my life.

I do, however, have great news. With daily study of God's word, prayer, and mediation... I can honestly tell you that my faith has grown in ways I didn't even know were possible.

I used to listen to friends who would say, "God spoke to me, and he's said..." I just could never figure out why exactly they were receiving that type of luxury and I wasn't. I had to be honest with myself and ask if I had put everything I had into growing in my faith, and his word. If I am honest, the answer was "no".

I started to become very fervent in daily interaction with God. The time I  spent in prayer became very intimate and special and I now look forward to my morning time with God more than any other time of my day. I started to make a shift in my thinking from looking at what was wrong to PRAISING God for what was right. I shifted my attitude to gratitude and praised God in the midst of it all. Even when it hurt, even when I didn't understand, I knew that he was always looking out for me and he always has the best intentions for me and for my life's journey. Always.

So, yes, I agree. Faith is a muscle and the more we use it the more strength we gain.

'You will seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.'  - Jerimiah 29:13

Go and search for him in all you do. Slow down and look around you. You will see him everywhere. God keeps his promises.

Be the light.
